Vanuatu trip: December 2006 - February 2007
Our God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is GLORIOUS, more MAJESTIC, more MASSIVE than can be imagined! He is also beautifully RELATIONAL and works in people’s lives in so many ways which certainly includes working in the miraculous too.
I had often heard about the miraculous but had not seen any dramatic miracles (other than perhap some people feeling a headache improve after prayer) before going to the islands of Vanuatu. Let me add however that what I have come to realise is that the greatest miracle is this: a soul that has been trapped in darkness and bondage to the lies and deception of the enemy can be released into the glorious freedom that Christ brings once a person confesses and believes that Jesus is Lord. This truly is a miracle.. and then when a surrendered life is transformed into becoming more like Christ this is also such a miracle.
Also I must add further that in nature we witness so many miracles too...the way a swallow can navigate their journey across the world, a worm becoming a butterfly, ants working together to construct a nest etc. If we just observe and walk in the Spirit we can start seeing the miraculous power of God in the little things every day.
But more about Vanuatu - in December 2006 we travelled from the capital city called Port Vila on a light aircraft to the outer islands which still have some tribal people groups, some of whom are almost untouched by western influence ..they live in simple grass huts with coral floors, have no electricity or running water and an abundance of fish and fruit and vegetables to live off. A lifestyle that one would think would be harmonious and uncomplicated, yet many of these people are living in fear of black magic and consult witchdoctors for "protection"

"As you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freelyive." Matthew 10:7- 8
We were able to preach the gospel of Jesus “the Kingdom of heaven” and prayed for a number of sick people and literally saw this scripture fulfilled as not only were the spiritually sick healed as people came to know Jesus but many physical sicknesses were healed including deaf ears opening, a blind lady seeing, and a crippled lady walking!

But as I said earlier I believe that the miracle that God loves the most is to see someone coming from darkness to the light - knowing who Jesus really is and confessing that He is Lord and Saviour. That He came in the flesh, was crucified, resurrected and ascended into heaven. He is the King of Kings!
